The Beekman Group was recently recognised by the South Coast Tourism for putting the spotlight on the South Coast. The “News Maker of the Year” award was accepted by executive director, Cindy Allan on behalf of The Group, at the gala evening held at Port Shepstone Country Club in September.
This well-deserved honour was due to the fact that The Group won best business in Kwazulu-Natal under the Tourism category at the 10th annual KZN Top Business Awards 2016 in Durban, despite stiff competition from other renowned tourism giants. According to South Coast Tourism, the media coverage for such a prestigious recognition put the South Coast in a good light. South Coast Tourism CEO Justin Mackrory said, “The Beekman Group has, for many years, been at the forefront of the hospitality industry and we are proud that they have received not only a top provincial award but also long overdue recognition from the tourism community here on the South Coast.”
Cindy said, “With our Head Office being based in Port Shepstone and due to the many years experience we have in the tourism industry, we are in a position to promote tourism on the South Coast. Attracting visitors to our beautiful coast generates income for both local businesses and communities, which in turn provides incentives for investment in infrastructure and creates jobs within the community.” The Beekman Group is unwavering in its commitment to service excellence and, despite the many feathers in its cap, strives to stay ahead of the pack by continuously evolving to meet the demands of the industry’s ever changing landscape.
