Assistant Maintenance Manager- The Kingdom Resort

Pilanesberg – North West – South Africa

 We are seeking a reliable and experienced Assistant Maintenance Manager to support the Maintenance Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the maintenance department. This role ensures that all buildings, equipment, facilities, and infrastructure are maintained to the highest standards of safety, functionality, and overall presentation.
 
Key Performance Areas:
  • Operational Support
  • Assist in managing day-to-day maintenance operations
  • Supervise maintenance staff and allocate daily tasks
  • Ensure preventative and corrective maintenance schedules are followed
  • Inspect facilities regularly to identify and resolve maintenance issues
  • Facilities & Equipment Management
  • Monitor the condition of buildings, machinery, and equipment
  • Coordinate repairs and maintenance work
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
  • Maintain maintenance records, logs, and reports
  • Team Leadership
  • Support recruitment, training, and performance management of maintenance staff
  • Promote a culture of safety and accountability
  • Provide guidance and technical support to team members
  • Administrative Duties
  • Assist in managing maintenance budgets and controlling costs
  • Monitor stock levels of tools, equipment, and materials
  • Liaise with contractors and service providers
  • Provide regular reports to senior management
 
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
  • Grade 12 (Matric)
  • Relevant technical qualification (Electrical, Mechanical, Building, or similar – advantageous)
  • 3–5 years’ experience in maintenance or facilities management
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance
  • Valid driver’s licence
