When our people come together for a cause, small acts can grow into something truly meaningful. Through The Beekman Group’s 2026 Annual Animal Welfare Drive, colleagues from Head Office raised R45,028.25 for Harmony Hill Animal Rescue Haven, supporting plans for a new weatherproof kennel facility and grassy recreational area.
For more than 55 years, Beekman Group has proudly called the KwaZulu-Natal South Coast home. Our business has grown here, many of our people live and work here, and the community around us has always been part of our story. That is why giving back is not simply something we do – it’s part of who we are.
Harmony Hill is a local no-kill rescue haven caring for animals affected by neglect and abandonment. Its need to expand its kennel facilities gave this year’s drive a clear purpose: to help create a more protected, practical space for the animals in its care.

Small Ideas, One Big-Hearted Effort
Across Head Office, teams found creative ways to lend a hand. There were raffles and prize hampers, popcorn and cookie sales, car washes and department-led fundraisers, but the real heart of it was simple: people giving their time, sharing ideas and contributing what they could to one shared cause.
Turning R45,028.25 into Practical Care
The money raised was used to purchase building materials for Harmony Hill’s new kennel facility. Designed to offer better protection from changing weather conditions, the development will also include a grassy recreational area where the animals can move and play.
On 10 September 2026, weeks of fundraising became something tangible. Hannelie Miller (Manager) and Zintle Simoyi (Culture & Engagement Officer) from Training and Development attended the handover, where the building materials were formally delivered to Harmony Hill together with blankets, towels and cushions collected during the drive. The donated items offered immediate comfort, while the materials marked an important step towards completing the new facility.
“Some people help you build something. Others help you believe it was possible in the first place. The Beekman Group has done both for us. Their generosity, hard work and unwavering support have brought our dream of completing the rescue kennels closer than we ever imagined. We honestly don’t know where we would be without them. Every kennel, every supply and every little bit of help will mean a safer, happier life for an animal who has already known too much hardship.
You didn’t just help us build kennels. You helped us build a place where broken hearts can finally feel safe. For that, we will be forever grateful – and forever proud to call you friends.” — Dalyn, Harmony Hill Animal Rescue Haven

Why We Will Keep Showing Up
The Annual Animal Welfare Drive has become an important part of how our people put Beekman Group’s culture of giving back into action. This year’s response showed just how much can happen when people across Head Office rally around a cause that matters.
Because this community has shaped who we are, supporting the people and organisations within it is a responsibility we gladly carry. We will continue to stand behind local causes where our involvement can help turn a genuine need into swift action.
We are deeply proud of everyone who helped make the 2026 drive a success. What began as a collection of individual contributions became a powerful reflection of who our people are: caring, generous and ready to act when their community needs them. That spirit is why initiatives like this will remain part of our story.Find out more about The Beekman Group’s CSI initiatives
