Every small action matters here at the Beekman Group. The travel landscape is changing, and more guests are choosing destinations that tread lightly, think sustainably and give back generously. This quarter, our Go Green and Corporate Social Investment efforts continued to reflect that shared responsibility, showing how hospitality can play a meaningful role in caring for both people and the planet.
Water-Wise and Eco-Friendly Resorts
In a world where water scarcity is increasing and rainfall patterns are becoming more unpredictable, being water-wise is no longer optional. It is essential. Across our resorts, we are investing in smarter systems that support both guests and the environment.
At Placid Waters, newly installed JoJo tanks provide a reliable backup water supply during outages in the area. This ensures guests remain comfortable while also easing pressure on local infrastructure. San Martinho Beach Club has added a fourth borehole, and the gardens now use water-retaining woodchips, reducing the need for irrigation. Drip and spray irrigation systems at the restaurant, San Martinho Hotel and San Martinho Vila Azul help ensure that every drop of water goes exactly where it is needed, avoiding waste while supporting healthy, flourishing landscapes.
These improvements help us adapt to environmental realities while still offering the high-quality experiences our guests expect, all with a lighter environmental footprint.

Small Changes, Big Environmental Impact
Sometimes the most meaningful environmental change begins with simple, everyday habits. At The Aloes, that means recycling cans, harvesting rainwater for the pool, cultivating a herb garden onsite and maintaining regular beach clean-ups. Each action, no matter how small, supports a healthier local ecosystem.

Cayley Lodge has significantly reduced single-use plastic by switching from disposable refuse bags to reusable PVC bags for linen movement. The Margate Beach Club team continues its hands-on commitment to the environment by collecting cans for recycling, planting ground cover on fragile dunes and organising substantial area clean-ups.
These thoughtful efforts reflect the values of today’s conscious traveller, someone who wants their stay to contribute positively to the places they visit. It is a reminder that sustainability in tourism is not simply a trend. It is the future of responsible hospitality.

Giving Back: Corporate Social Investment
Caring for our communities is as important as caring for our environment. This quarter, we supported the Santa Shoebox Project by supplying 40 gift boxes that each bring joy to a child in need. We also contributed to the South Coast Hospice Donkey Derby fundraiser and donated to the National Sea Rescue Institute Station (NSRI) to help fund vital rescue operations along our coastline.
Throughout the year, we extended support to organisations such as Anerley Haven, Barnyard Stables, Child Welfare, Down Syndrome SA, Reach for Recovery, Sunshine Angels and Thanda. These partnerships strengthen the wellbeing of the communities around us and ensure that the impact of our CSI efforts is meaningful and lasting.
Raising Awareness: Movember 2025
In the spirit of care and connection, many of our staff joined the Movember movement by creating official profiles and raising funds under their names. Movember highlights critical issues such as men’s mental health, prostate cancer and testicular cancer. Our team’s involvement reflects our commitment to wellbeing in every sense, including physical, mental and social health.

Our Commitment to Growth, Sustainability and Community
As we reflect on a year of expansion, innovation and impact, it’s clear that 2025 has strengthened our commitment to being a force for good in the leisure and hospitality sector. We are proud of the progress we have made in building greener spaces, healthier communities and more conscious travel experiences. We are even more excited about what lies ahead.
In 2026, we will continue leaning into sustainability, long-term environmental thinking and meaningful community partnerships. This is a journey we share with our guests, staff, partners and the conscious travellers shaping the future of tourism. Together, we can create more mindful holiday experiences, uplift our communities and safeguard the beauty of our natural world.
