MEMBER ALERT : Protect Your Points from Scams and Unaccredited Sales Agents. Members are urged to remain vigilant when approached by unauthorised third parties offering to buy or take over holiday Points. Several Members have fallen victim to fraudulent agents with misleading offers. Please exercise caution and verify the legitimacy of any such communication. HOW THE HOLIDAY CLUB WORKS www.theholidayclub.co.za | Member Alert 47 WHAT TO LOOK OUT FOR TOO-GOOD-TO-BE-TRUE OFFERS: Be wary of companies claiming to have access to large international databases and offering thousands in Dollars, Euros, or other currencies for your Points. These are scams. UPFRONT FEE SCAMS: Some individuals promise to rent out your Points in exchange for an upfront “admin fee” paid into a non-Holiday Club account. These offers often include fake guarantees of high returns. This is not allowed under your Member agreement. UNAUTHORISED POINT RENTALS: Renting out your Points is strictly prohibited. Anyone offering to manage or lease them is acting against the terms of your agreement. FALSE CLAIMS OF LEGITIMACY: People who were once associated with The Holiday Club but have since been dismissedmay use their past connection to appear credible. Don’t assume they are still authorised to act on your behalf. REQUESTS FOR LOGIN DETAILS: No legitimate agent will ever ask for your username or password. Never share these, just as you wouldn’t share your banking PIN. If you’re ever in doubt, please contact Member Services before taking any action. WATCH OUT! • ACCREDITED AGENTS: Make sure that you always deal with one of The Holiday Club’s accredited agents. In an effort to protect our Members, we have created The Holiday Club Sales App to authenticate the transactions of all accredited Holiday Club sales agents. Refer to page 35 for more on the Holiday Club Sales App and tips on how to verify the authenticity of your agent. Alternatively, contact our Member Services department on 0861 842 842 to verify an agent you wish to deal with. • PURCHASING ADDITIONAL NEW POINTS: If you are interested in purchasing additional newPoints, email your name and contact details to sales@theholidayclub.co.za and we will contact you. • PURCHASING SECONDHAND POINTS: The resale of Points is not vetted by us. There are a number of distinct disadvantages in purchasing resale Points: - Membership Tiers and Benefits Whether you purchase resale Points or Points from any other leisure club or travel company, these Points cannot be combined with your original Holiday Club “purchased Points”. Therefore, your Membership Tier and the associated benefits will remain unchanged - irrespective of the number of resale Points you purchase. Also, benefits that were held by the previous Member are non-transferable. - Outstanding Fees Resale Points may have outstanding fees attached to them, which you will personally be held responsible for as the newowner. WHAT TO LOOK OUT FOR UNSOLICITED OFFERS: Be cautious if approached by anyone promoting resale schemes, holiday discounts, or new Points ownership deals. Always contact us first before engaging. FALSE PANIC TACTICS: Some scammers try to create fear by claiming to have “inside information” about The Holiday Club’s financial stability. These claims are completely false. If you’re considering selling your Points, contact us directly. We can connect you with a reputable resale company. If you have any queries or need further clarification on any of the information above, kindly get in touch with Member Services. Email assist@theholidayclub.co.za | or call 0861 THC THC (842 842).
