Points are allocated to inventory based on a number of different factors that include: INVENTORY POINTS HOW THE HOLIDAY CLUB WORKS 44 How Inventory Works | www.theholidayclub.co.za UNIT SIZE AND TYPE SEASONS BOOKING DURATIONS The unit sizes are indicated by the number of guests that can occupy the units. The higher the occupancy, the higher the Points required. Inventory is typically offered in durations as Weekends (Friday to Monday), Midweeks (Monday to Friday) or Full Weeks (Friday to Friday). When a resort offers Midweeks or Weekends, this is what is also known as a ‘split week’. Not all resorts offer split weeks, especially during peak season. FULL WEEK (FW): A Full Week means a 7-night stay, and usually runs from a Friday afternoon to a Friday morning. Check-in/out days may vary per resort. WEEKEND (WE): A Weekend is approximately 60% of a full week’s Points value and usually runs from Friday afternoon to Mondaymorning. MIDWEEK (MW): A Midweek is approximately 40% of a full week’s Points value and usually runs fromMonday afternoon to Fridaymorning. WEEKS & DATES Check-in and check-out dates are shown in each resort’s Points Table, next to the season and Points costs per booking duration. Visit the website to view these Points Tables. The Points Table groups resorts by season, area, diamond rating and unit size, with equal Points values across similar resorts. While seasons may shift yearly, the total annual Points cost per unit stays the same. LOWOUT: The least popular out of season periods for holidays. MEDIUMOUT: These are all out-of-season periods, excluding the weeks with Public Holidays or long weekends. HIGH OUT: Out-of-seasonweekswhere there is a PublicHoliday, a longweekend or a high demand period. LOW IN: The least popular periods for holidays during school holiday weeks. MEDIUM IN: This grouping covers medium demand holidays during school holiday weeks. HIGH IN: These are themost popular school holidays apart from peak season. PEAK: These weeks are the most popular season weeks, e.g. Christmas and New Year. TYPES OF SEASONS: IMPROVED INVENTORY We’re continuing our drive to consolidate inventory so we can give Members more choice in the destinations they want most. By exiting shareholding in less popular resorts and investing in high- demand locations, we’re able to expand availability, improve quality, and pass on cost savings. This approach ensures you have more access to the resorts you love, with better value and consistency. 1 3 2 INVENTORY AVAILABILITY To help you plan ahead, The Holiday Club now automatically releases holiday inventory 11 months in advance, once government school calendars and partner resort schedules are confirmed. The Holiday Club ALWAYS maintains enough inventory to match all Member Points, with thousands of holidays AVAILABLE RIGHT NOW! HOW INVENTORY WORKS “Inventory” is simply a word for the holidays that The Holiday Club has available for its Members. We take note of which resorts our Members visit frequently and where they want to build future memories. We monitor these trends and take in your holiday preferences so you get the best range of holiday options to choose from. WHAT IS INVENTORY ? You will hear the term “inventory” from us in a number of different places, but what is it, and what does it mean for you and your holiday? HOWWE ENSURE FAIR ACCESS TO HOLIDAY INVENTORY All our Members deserve a chance to enjoy their Holiday Club membership and all the perks that come with belonging to the best vacation club in Southern Africa. With that in mind, we would like to remind everyone that some practices infringe on other Members’ enjoyment of their membership. An example of this is renting out Points or holidays for profit. Not only is this contrary to your use agreement but this also prevents another Member from potentially enjoying that holiday themselves. To be equitable for all Members, at certain key properties, we actively limit the number of holidays booked into those particular resorts per year based on the MembershipTiers(please see table).
