Santa's Shoebox Project: warming little hearts

For the second year, Beekman Group has come together to put together Christmas Gifts for the Santa's Shoebox project. Here is our team with 50 boxes they packed and wrapped! We are so excited to know that 50 boys and girls from underprivileged backgrounds will be able to wake up with a smile on their face on Christmas morning as they open their gifts!

Do you want to help?

To become a Secret Santa visit their website and register. You can pledge a box from 1 September onwards each year and select a recipient by name. Based on the child you picks’ requirements (age, gender etc.) you'll be able to fill and decorate the box with the goodies as indicated on their list. Drop off week is end October each year.

If you're time is a bit scarce or if you live too far from a drop-off point, leave it to Pick 'n Pay! You are also able to sponsor a virtual Santa Shoebox and they will pack it on your behalf and ensure that it contains all the necessary items. Each box will be hand delivered to a child in an area of need. All the gifts we put together will be going to local children on the KZN South Coast.

About Santa Shoebox Project

The Santa Shoebox Project originated in Cape Town and has grown in leaps and bounds, with the number of Santa Shoeboxes growing from a humble 180 boxes in 2006 to an astounding 109 930 in 2014. The boxes are distributed to more than 1000 recipient facilities, through more than 60 satellites around South Africa and Namibia. The success of the Project can largely be attributed to its personal nature – donors give gifts to children whose names, ages and genders are known.
