Group Project Manager

Port Shepstone – KwaZulu Natal – South Africa

The succesful incumbent will be responsible for leading, coordinating and executing cross department and cross-functional Company Projects: research, management, and ensuring timely completion.
The responsibility includes planning and coordinating project resources, monitoring progress, and keeping stakeholders informed. The Group Project Manager will coordinate people, processes and tasks to ensure that projects are delivered on time and produce the desired results – essentially being the go-to person for everything involving assigned project’s organisation and timelines.
Responsibilities Include:
  • Researching new initiatives and developments as required
  • Determining and defining project scope, objectives and deliverables   
  • Project stakeholder scoping and mapping
  • Assembling appropriate project teams
  • Determining resources needed to reach objectives
  • Developing a detailed project plan to track progress
  • Developing and managing detailed project meeting cycles, schedules and work plans
  • Managing stakeholders and their respective tasks in an effective and efficient manner
  • Keeping all direct and indirect stakeholders informed about priorities, adjustments, and progress of projects
  • Utilising industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution
  • Monitoring progress and making adjustments as needed
  • Ensuring that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope
  • Reporting and escalating project issues and risks to management as needed
  • Measuring project performance to identify areas for improvement
Position Requirements:
  • 5+ Years relevant working experience within the Hospitality / Leisure sector
  • Project management qualification or equivalent  
  • Strong analytical and project management skills essential  
  • Knowledge of Project Management software tools, methodologies and best practice
  • Experience in managing people  
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure
  • Experience seeing projects through the full life cycle
  • Proven ability to complete projects according to scope, budget and timelines
  • Experience in the Agile methodology an advantage
  • Analytical, Dynamic, Meticulous, Performance driven, Resourceful, Self Starter with excellent Interpersonal skills and Communication skills
