Mbalenhle from Port Shepstone having her wish made true
Reach For A Dream
The Reach for a Dream Foundation believes in the power of dreams; they encourage children to use their dreams to fight life-threatening illnesses and we try, as far as possible, to make these dreams come true. Their vision is to grow the Foundation to continue giving hope to children fighting life-threatening illnesses through the fulfillment of their dreams.
The Beekman Group responded to an appeal from the Foundation, to sponsor a dream. The dreamer was 7 year old Mbalenhle from Port Shepstone in Kwalatshoda, she has been diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia and is currently receiving treatment at Albert Luthuli. Mbalenhle dreamed of experiencing a shopping spree to buy Princess Sophia the 1st dresses because she absolutely loves her.
She wants to be a doctor when she grows up so that she can help sick children, her favourite meal is pizza and cool drink, favourite colour is purple and she enjoys playing Netball. Mbalenhle was joined on the dream by her mum Matshepo and a volunteer from Reach for a Dream.
It was a heart-warming experience for staff members who accompanied Mbalenhle to our local Shopping Mall, where she chose mostly clothes to buy, and enjoyed a hearty meal at the local Spur. Special thanks to the staff at Spur who made our little dreamer feel special as well as the staff at Edgar's who treated her like royalty!
