The Tiger Lodge
The Destination
Fed by the Pongola River, Lake Jozini is located within a
narrow gorge in the Lebombo Mountain Range of northern
Kwazulu-Natal. The 13 276 hectre lake, dammed by an 89
metre high and 515 metre long wall, was completed in 1972
to serve as a holding reservoir for irrigation purposes.
However, with the Pongolapoort Game Reserve fringing the
eastern shores of the lake being home to 4 of Africa’s Big 5
(only lion is excluded) as well as over 350 recorded species
of birdlife, together with excellent Tiger Fishing, the lake is
attracting more and more visitors.
Within easy driving distance (just under an hour) are the
internationally renowned game reserves: Nduma, Mkusi,
Umfolozi and the Thembe Elephant Park. For scuba diving enthusiasts, Nine Mile Beach and Sodwana
Bay on the shores of the Indian Ocean are just over an hour’s drive away.

Phase 1 will consist of constructing units amounting to a total of 60 bedrooms. This phase will
accommodate 144 people.
